Musicians for Europe is a program run in 2006 (first edition) by the FfP and financed by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – the Department of Relations with Romanians Living Abroad and the Ratiu Family Foundation from Great Britain. The program aims the reconsideration of Romanian cultural elites from the European and transatlantic areas. On its first edition in 2006, the program had a ten-day format, taking place in Sibiu, between July 12 -22, as a forerunner of the “Sibiu, European Cultural Capital 2007” program. The event was attended by 47 musicians -students, undergraduates and professors. The mastership classes were held by violinists with impressive portfolios and internationally successful careers: Liviu Prunaru, Wn Zhou Li and Florin Croitoru. They shared their knowledge of violin performance art with the class attendants, and the course was ended with the demonstrative recitals of the trainees.
