In accordance with its principle of promoting he independent press in Romania and considering the media’s essential role in the process of implementing democracy, the Foundation for Pluralism, together with the Centre for Independent Journalism and the BBC School for Radio and Television in Romania, have organized four training seminars which were attended by one hundred journalists from local radio and television channels, as well as newspapers.

In order to elevate the standards of the local newspapers, FfP has organized a local press competition, funded by the Institute for Democracy in Eastern Europe (IDEE).
The purpose of these programs was to encourage and support the local independent press and to provide the local newspapers with performance technical equipment.
