Dear friends,
At the Meeting of the Centers for Pluralism from the Balkans organized in Budapest between
October 20-22, 2000, 18 representatives of NGOs from the Southeastern Europe agreed that
regional networks could be more effective for cross border activities. We agreed that the
NGOs priorities for the Balkan region are:
* Transition monitoring EU access process * Good governance
* Education and training by NGOs and for
NGOs * Coalition building
* Improvement of public image and perception
* Building up partnership with democratic political parties, business community and
academics
We are happy to announce you that the Balkan Centers for Pluralism now have their own
dedicated website, hosted by the Foundation for Pluralism at www.pluralism.ro and funded
by Institute for Democracy in Eastern Europe.
We built the website to encourage communication and cooperation between CfPs, CfP partner
organizations and other NGOs in the region. We hope the web site will help us all to
promote our organization's activity, strong impact programs, find out about funding
sources and opportunities for joint programs.
The constant flow of information will create new opportunities for regional co-operation,
will strengthen the sense of belonging to an effective, coherent community and will
encourage new organizations in the region to join the network.
