The Regional School for Young Leaders and Civic
Activists - 2008 (School-2008), is a training program run by the
Foundation for Pluralism and funded by
The Black Sea Trust for Regional
Cooperation, a project of the German Marshall
Fund of the United States.
The program beneficiaries are 40 young people that live and work in Romania and
Republic of Moldova, aged 18 to 35, various community NGO’s representatives and
political parties’ representatives, having a high position in their
organizations.
The program offers a unique approach to training sessions dedicated to young
people who have chosen to be active in the politic or civic arena. The
Foundation for Pluralism designed this program based on citizens' views of
politicians and on citizens' expectation from their elected representatives.
The training modules have an interactive format and are aimed at improving the
participants' communication skills, negotiation, conflict prevention and
resolution, mediation skills, building coalitions and partnerships, and as well
at increasing participants' sense of responsibility in practicing politics as a
profession.
The trainers are Romanian experts and independent consultants with extensive
expertise in their respective field. They will provide training sessions on:
communication, strategic planning campaigns and public participation.
The training sessions will take place in Targu Mures (Romania), between
