The Foundation for Pluralism has organized study visits in Romania for
delegations of young American politicians in 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2005. They met
with representatives of the Government and Presidency, members of Parliament and
local officials.
They also had the opportunity to visit museums and special places, but more
importantly to meet special people. The “live” encounter with Romania and its
people had an important impact for each of them, and the connections and
relationships established during each visit were maintained and grew in time.
Delegations of young Romanian politicians were received by ACYPL in 1996, 2001,
2004 and 2006. the young Romanian politicians met with prominent American
political personalities (the State Department, USAID, the Republican Party, the
Democrat Party, governors, members of the US Senate and Congress) and with
representatives of active civic organizations in the areas of minorities, human
rights and environmental protection.
